Kevin began his specials career in 1997 being shown sparingly by breeder and owner Leslie Russell. Phil started showing Kevin in 1998 where he became the #1 Irish Setter male. In 1999, Kevin and Phil picked up where they left off in 1998 and built on that success. In the first 9 months of 1999, Kevin had won 5 all breed Best In Shows, 23 Groups Firsts, and he had defeated over 15,000 Sporting dogs.
